Fighting for Liverpool Wavertree

Crewe by-election is a fantastic result for Liberal Democrats

10.20.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 27th May 2008

The Liberal Democrats achieved a 7% swing in the recent Crewe and Nantwich by-election. If this result was repeated during a general election we would win a number of seats including Liverpool Wavertree.

Colin Eldridge said, "In Wavertree we only need a 4% swing. The result in Crewe shows that we are on course to win Wavertree at the next election. More and more people are supporting the Liberal Democrats as they know we are the only people who will stand up to Labour on issues like the 10% tax rate."
