Colin Eldridge helps bags £1000 for Charity11.22.00am GMT Fri 18th Dec 2009
Colin Eldridge and local students were helping shoppers at the city center's Marks & Spencers pack their bags to raise money for the Penny Lane Development trust. Students gave hours of their time to help the Penny Lane Trust, an organization that is regenerating the Penny Lane area and providing activities for young people. Martyn Elliott, a local student who gave most of his time on Wednesday to help said "I was more than happy to give up my day to help the charity. They do so much good work, and the shoppers were so generous towards our efforts". Colin Eldridge, who is Prospective MP for Liverpool Wavertree commented "The efforts of the students was amazing. They worked extremely hard to help the shoppers, and for their efforts they have raised over £1000. The Penny Lane Trust means so much to me personally, so I was absolutely delighted we can now give the charity an extra £1000 to help the regeneration of the area, and of the young people it will help"
