With the cold conditions still causing disarray, Colin Eldridge, Parliamentary Candidate for Liverpool Wavertree, has taken to the streets in an effort to combat the ice.

Colin has this weekend organized a team of volunteers to help clear the snow and ice in shopping areas and by elderly people's homes.

Colin said, "I have been inundated with requests for help. So many people have been complaining about the state of the pavements and I thought I would do something about it!

"Today [Saturday] we went to Allerton Road to try and break away the ice on the pavement and I will be taking a team out tomorrow to continue this work across our area to ensure the safety of local people".

Colin added "The state of the roads and pavements is a real concern particularly for elderly and vulnerable people. We need everyone to pull together and help our friends and neighbours. If you know of areas that are particularly bad and you can't do anything about it, please let me know and we will try and help".
